Speech by President Carlos Alvarado before the 76 General Assembly of the United Nations

Addressing the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, Costa Rica President Carlos Alvarado called on world powers to fulfill their commitment to provide vaccines to the countries most in need, given the abysmal inequality in their distribution.

Alvarado also raised his voice for the imprisonment of political opponents, journalists and students in Nicaragua, he called for real democracy to govern the sister country.
